When water is pouring through a ceiling at 2 a.m. in Coral Gables, or mold is spreading behind drywall in Little Havana, the people who show up matter as much as the equipment they bring. Our Miami crew is a small, tight group of restoration technicians, coordinators, and apprentices who’ve worked through hundreds of South Florida water losses together. We’re independently owned and operated, part of the Relay Home Co. family, and every one of us lives in Miami-Dade. That means we know what salt air, hurricane season, and 80% humidity do to a home long before we ever step inside it.
Restoration work we handle

Our People
Blake Sorensen, Owner & Lead Restoration Technician
Blake founded Wendell Restoration in 2006, and he’s still the first person to walk a wet slab after a water heater lets go in Kendall or a supply line bursts in Coconut Grove. He holds IICRC certifications in water damage restoration and applied structural drying, and he’s the one who trains every new hire on psychrometric drying (tracking the air’s moisture level so we know when your home is truly dry, not just surface-dry). He’s been known to say that Miami humidity is the only coworker who never takes a day off. On weekends, you’ll find him fishing off Key Biscayne when the water cooperates.
Elena R., Senior Installer & Mold Remediation Specialist
Elena has been with Wendell for nine years and leads most of our mold remediation jobs across Hialeah, Doral, and South Miami. She’s certified in mold remediation through the IICRC and has a knack for containment setups that keep spores from drifting into clean rooms. Before restoration, she worked in commercial construction, which means she reads blueprints and understands how a building is supposed to breathe. Elena keeps a small herb garden on her apartment balcony and claims the Miami sun does most of the work for her.
Marcus T., Service Coordinator & First Voice on the Phone
Marcus is the person you’ll likely talk to first when you call (850) 909-7064. He’s been dispatching Miami restoration crews since 2018 and knows the traffic patterns from Aventura to Palmetto Bay well enough to give you a real arrival time, not a vague four-hour window. Marcus coordinates the live arrival tracking, the before-and-after photo updates by text, and the digital invoices you pay from a link. He’s a Miami native who grew up during Hurricane Andrew and remembers exactly why his family moved everything to the second floor every June.
Jose D., Water Damage Apprentice
Jose joined us in 2023 after leaving a career in hotel maintenance, where he spent years fixing the kinds of plumbing failures that cause the water damage we clean up. He’s working toward his IICRC water restoration certification under Blake and Elena, and he’s already the crew’s go-to for Injectidry floor mat systems on hardwood in older Coral Way bungalows. Outside work, he coaches youth soccer in Little Havana on Saturday mornings.
One Standard, Every Job
Every technician who carries a Wendell Restoration Miami badge is background-checked, uniformed, and held to the same written standard, whether they’re in a high-rise in Brickell or a ranch house in Westchester. We work under IICRC, RIA, and IFA guidelines using professional equipment from Dri-Eaz, Phoenix, XPOWER, B-Air, and Injectidry. The Relay Standard is not a training video we watched once. It’s the process we run on every job: book in a tap, a written price before any work starts, live arrival time you can track, photo updates by text, and a digital invoice you pay from a link. And behind all of it, the 365-Day Done Right Promise, stated in writing on every single job: if it’s not done right, we make it right, including a free second visit if the repair fails. The names change from job to job, but the standard never does.
